midweek student gathering
Starting on April 28 2010, our student gathering at Highfield will be on a Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Church Centre. We’ve moved it from Sunday to give students more time and space to connect with Sunday evening church and be part of that community.
On Wednesdays, we will have good food, café, time to spend with each other, in the bible and praying for one another. There will be worship, guest speakers on a variety of subjects relating to being a follower of Jesus today and social events too. Above all we want to create the time and space away from the busyness of a Sunday to build solid friendships with each other, because we believe that it is within these that we can see Jesus at work and follow him more closely.
So come and join us on Wednesdays 5-7pm for all or part of it. You can get your evening meal and still head off to home group, text a toasty, out to the pub or whatever you are doing later on. For the summer 2010 term we have a variety of people coming to talk about God at work in their jobs, we will look at political issues with Gareth Davies from Care (just before the election) and talk about surviving exams.
